The 50th annual Mexican Fiesta comes to Maier Festival Park Aug. 25-27. There's plenty of music, a Día de Los Muertos parade, the popular custom car and motorcycle show, a cultural pavilion, food and more. Mexican Fiesta runs from noon to midnight all three days. Admission is $24; kids younger than 9 get in free when accompanied by an adult. (Everyone gets in free from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 25.) Info: mexicanfiesta.org.

The East Side Business Improvement District is throwing a series of dance parties in Black Cat Alley, the open-air art gallery between Ivanhoe Plaza and Kenilworth Place off Farwell Avenue. The first bash in the BID's Sound System DJ Series, curated by Club Ritual, is from 5 to 11 p.m. Aug. 26. Admission is free. (Future event dates are Sept. 30, Oct. 28 and Nov. 25.) The 2023 Fresh Coast Jazz Festival brings eight jazz performances over two nights to the Pabst Theater. The music starts at 5 p.m. Aug. 25 and 6 p.m. Aug. 26.
